Here at the InnerCity Mission, we love celebrating every milestone and impact we make in the lives of the indigent.  Since its inception, through our robust Feeding Program which focuses on child nutrition and food security for families in vulnerable conditions, our program has had different approaches which include the Food Banking system, School Feeding, Food Assistance for Families, Orphanages, Soup kitchens, and Community feeding Outreach.

Our volunteers play a pivotal role in the work we do, they help expand our humanitarian footprints in countries around the world where the need is greatest.

It was a heart-throbbing moment when our volunteers in Swaziland, in commemoration of the ongoing Hunger Action Month Campaign (HAM), pioneered a soup kitchen in the Mahwalala community.

Mahwalala community is one of the smallest and poorest communities in Swaziland with the most population being young children. The country has a national poverty rate of about 63 % and an unemployment rate of 41 %. The food security situation in Eswatini has not fully recovered from the 2016/2017 El Niño drought which shook most parts of Southern Africa, leaving many families and children on the brink of starvation.

The soup kitchen kicked off with over 50 children being served delicious hot meals by our volunteering team. The soup kitchen will serve hot meals to indigent children twice a week. Congratulations to our volunteers in Mbabane, for answering the cries of needy children.

It is of uttermost importance to know that the health of our world starts with sound, vibrant, and strong communities built by healthy people. Take a stand with us against hunger through the #HungerActionMonth to sponsor meals for the needy families and children living in underserved communities. To GIVE NOW CLICK HERE icm.ngo/donate
