WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF REDEMPTION!!!

INSURGENCIES AND THE DECREASED SPACE FOR GIRL CHILD EDUCATION.

testing

Every child has the right to a safe, quality education and access to lifetime learning. However, due to a combination of factors like insecurity, conflicts, and poverty, many girls involuntary leave school while others never have the opportunity to go to school, in the first place.

According to research, 32 million girls of primary school age who live in countries affected by insurgencies are more than twice as likely to be out of school. School infrastructures are destroyed in conflict situations, while targeted attacks on girls’ schools, like in Northern Nigeria, can make parents afraid to send their daughters to school.

At the InnerCity Mission network of schools, we understand the importance of education, especially the girl child’s education; how it prepares a solid educational foundation for her to face realities in society. That is why through our robust educational programs, we can build tuition-free schools in strategically safe locations like Murbai Taraba State and Yola, Adamawa State to impact the lives of the indigent children in the surrounding communities. Amongst other things distributing learning materials, and hygiene kits, and also supporting schools in underserved communities.

Amina, a beneficiary of the recently commissioned school in Murbai, Taraba State has been one of the young girls whose dreams became almost shattered when bandits attacked her village and ended up destroying her school. Girls like Amina who have been affected by conflict have to be in school because failure to do so, they end up engaging in other unsolicited behavior just to make a living or to be married off early to support their families.

As the InnerCity Mission, we believe in educating the girl child and hence we are committed to providing the necessary support for every Girl child, equipping them with the necessary tools to fight inequality, child labor, sexual and domestic abuse as well as other forms of injustice meted out against vulnerable girls.

As we prepare for the new school session in September, our ongoing Sponsor A Child’s Education Campaign (SP.A.C. E Campaign) allows you to sponsor a child’s education for a full session with $100 or its equivalent in your local currency. Join us to give hope and color the dreams of young girls just like what you did with Amina. You can also sponsor things like hygiene supplies, school kits, school materials, and free school meals and help build a solid educational foundation. To Donate Click Here –https://icm.ngo/donation
