The boys moved into the refuse dump under the Opebi link bridge in Lagos, Nigeria with their mother Mrs. Rita Sunday when Michael was just a year old. According to her, after the demise of her husband she couldn’t afford to pay the house rent and no one would take her in with two (2) kids. Besides, scavenging in the dump helped provide her children with the things they needed.
