We leave Cannes and cruise toward Nice, enjoying calm seas… until French customs decides to board us (again). After a champagne breakfast in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, we explore the stunning streets and seaside views of Nice before dealing with an overcharge from the marina — sparking the idea for a full exposé on questionable practices at Mediterranean marinas.
From there, we anchor off Eze for a peaceful escape before sailing into Monaco for the very first time. Docking in the legendary Port Hercules — one of the most expensive marinas in the world — we take in the superyachts, the Monaco Grand Prix streets, and even step inside the world-famous Monte Carlo Casino where GoldenEye was filmed. And while we’re channeling our inner James Bond, Mr. Gidget is living his best life at Monaco’s luxury dog spa.
