En el corazón del Centro Histórico, en el número 23 de la bulliciosa calle López, yace la historia olvidada del 'Casino Alemán'. Antaño un punto de encuentro para la próspera comunidad alemana del siglo XIX en México, este edificio de fachada amarilla fue testigo de tiempos de esplendor y declive.
Con la esperanza de escapar de las revoluciones de 1848, algunos alemanes ya establecidos en México y otros recién llegados fundaron el casino como un refugio para mantener su unidad. Desde sus primeras dos sedes en la calle Francisco I. Madero hasta su ubicación final en la calle López en 1907, el casino se convirtió en un epicentro de entretenimiento y recreación, marcando su apogeo durante el gobierno de Porfirio Díaz.
Sin embargo, la sombra del conflicto europeo llegó en 1930, cuando el casino se transformó en un bastión de simpatizantes nazis. Aunque las dos banderas del Partido Nazi ondeaban en el edificio, la gente no reaccionó hasta la noticia del hundimiento de los buques mexicanos por los nazis en 1942.
La furia colectiva se desató, llevando a intentos de incendio y destrucción del recinto como repudio a los alemanes residentes. Aunque la policía intervino para sofocar los disturbios, el lugar nunca se recuperó. En 1943, el gobierno se apoderó del edificio, entregándolo a la Confederación Nacional Campesina.
La transformación fue radical: de centro de ocio a refugio para comunidades indígenas y, más tarde, sede del Movimiento de Unificación y Lucha Triqui en los años 90. Hoy, el deteriorado edificio alberga artesanías y ropa que se venden a las afueras, una vez vibrante, ahora silenciosa testigo del tiempo que todo cambia.

This video is of room # 17097 which is a Deluxe Queen Suite which is in District 2 in The Linq Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and has a fantastic view of the High Roller and the surrounding areas. It might be one of the best rooms at the LINQ in terms of affordability, view and layout!

I mention in the video that this part of the strip gives me Fremont Street experience vibes, with kind of a modern twist - it's such a fun area with so many things to see and do!
I really enjoyed the property, casino and how easy it was to walk to different areas. The Linq hotel is connected to Harrah's hotel and also to Caesar's Forum which is a convention area. I believe it was about a 5-7 minute walk from my room to the conference area and it's all indoors.
You'll also find The High Roller Ferris Wheel near by and I highly recommend requesting a room with the view, it's so fun to watch and it really lights up the sky!

In regards to the prices of rooms at The Linq + Experience - I've heard that these are some of the best hotel room prices on the strip and I have to say, if that's the case then this is definitely a great option because the rooms and property are fantastic and actually feel fancy and high class. They definitely don't feel like you are skimping in price but from what I've heard and experienced, they have some great rates on rooms and you can find deals on The Linq hotel stays. I also definitely recommend joining the rewards program (more info on that below)
As you can see, I loved the view at night, it was so pretty and this suite was so big - it would be perfect for a family or group of people and a great way to have friends join you for a meal or drinks in your room.
Wondering what restaurants are in the Linq hotel and area? Boy are you in for a treat ... SO many favorites, including the Nook, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Buddy's Jersey Eats, Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen and Bar, Gordon Ramsay's Fish & Chips, Chayo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar, Nook Express, Yard House .. and the list goes on and on!!
