What’s happening in this Casino movie clip?
The feds show Ace the pictures of Ginger and Nicky, but Ace doesn't want to look at them. The Chicago Outfit is indicted with skimming the casino and they decide to murder anyone who can incriminate them. They reluctantly kill Andy Stone (Alan King) in fear that he may talk, although Nicky states their main motive is that he wasn't Italian. John Nance (Bill Allison) is also killed while hiding from the feds in Costa Rica. Also on the Outfit's hitlist are two of the men from the counting room. The list of victims expands greatly and the murders pile up over a period of weeks. After Ginger left, Sam found out she'd hooked up with some lowlifes and blew through all the money and jewels. She later dies from a cocaine overdose.

What’s the movie Casino about?
In the early 1970s, Sam "Ace" Rothsteinn (Robert De Niro from Taxi Driver and The Godfather) is sent to Las Vegas by the Chicago Mafia to run the Tangiers Hotel and Casino, which is financed by the powerful truckers' union and serves as a front for the Mafia. He has absolute control over all the day-to-day business, and runs this "promised land" with an iron fist, while the money flows freely. The Tangiers is one of the most prosperous casinos in the city and Ace has become the big boss in Vegas, assisted by his childhood friend, Nicky Santoron (Joe Pesci from Raging Bull and The Irishman). But this one is going to gradually take his distance to engage in a darker and criminal way. Rothstein is ruthless with cheaters and obsessed with controlling all events, yet he is seduced by a prostitute, Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone from Basic Instinct and The Mighty), a virtuoso hustler and an insolent beauty. Madly in love, he opens the doors of his world to her, marries her and gives her a child. But their relationship turns out to be just like Las Vegas, glittering in appearance, but in reality eaten away from the inside. Once seduced, Ginger can't get over her former pimp, Lester Diamond (James Woods from Holocaust and The Onion Field), a small time crook. The well-oiled machinery of the Tangiers and Sam's personal life will soon break down, and all the characters will be doomed in one way or another, with no redemption possible.

This is my update on the Mirage Hotel to the Hard Rock Las Vegas transformation taken on Thursday, November 14, 2024. It's been about 2 weeks since I was last out here. Since my last visit, you can see that they have made a lot more of the rebar columns that are being used for the footers of the new Guitar tower. You can also see the cranes, drill riggs, concrete pumps and cement trucks that are set up in the area of the new Guitar tower location. I couldn't see it on my viewfinder when filming but you can see that the crane was lifting one of the giant rebar columns into place while I was filming. We can also see that they are bring in loads of dirt to fill in the area out front where some of the water features used to be. One of the side dump trucks was dumping a load. I did not see any changes to the outside of the original Mirage building. This building is not going to torn down. It is going to get remodeled and rebranded to the Hard Rock.
