Many indigent families around the world are yet to recover from the
global crisis which affected their daily livelihoods. Through the
“Preserve Families” initiative, the InnerCity Mission is
strengthening vulnerable and marginalized families through skills
acquisition training, business support, and grants to start
small-scale businesses.
In Borno State, Nigeria, our Volunteers identified two widows who
were in dire need of support. They had no source of income and
struggled to cater for their children. Sometimes, they were forced
to beg to survive. In response, our Volunteers set up a petty trade
for one of the women and gave the other a machine to start a
grinding business.
