2022 May Week 4 Newsletter - InnerCity Mission HQ WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF REDEMPTION!!!

Dear Partners,

It’s been an amazing month of May. Through your partnership, we have made a tangible difference in the lives of the indigent globally.

We celebrate the impact made by you, our dear Partners and Volunteers, in different countries around the world. Your support continues to move the InnerCity Mission closer to achieving its set goals of reaching the most vulnerable and needy.

Preserve Families Initiative: Impacting Indigent Families Globally

Many indigent families around the world are yet to recover from the global crisis which affected their daily livelihoods. Through the “Preserve Families” initiative, the InnerCity Mission is strengthening vulnerable and marginalized families through skills acquisition training, business support, and grants to start small-scale businesses.

In Borno State, Nigeria, our Volunteers identified two widows who were in dire need of support. They had no source of income and struggled to cater for their children. Sometimes, they were forced to beg to survive. In response, our Volunteers set up a petty trade for one of the women and gave the other a machine to start a grinding business. Join the InnerCity Mission to preserve families by sponsoring a family or donating food items to needy families or volunteering your expertise to teach skills to families. Click here to donate.

Over 100 Government Officials Trained to Protect Indigent Children

The InnerCity Mission organized a one-day Child Advocacy training on ‘Bullying and its Effects’ for Government officials and over 100 Counselors in Lagos State, Nigeria. This training is one of the InnerCity Mission’s initiatives geared at ensuring vulnerable children are protected.

Some of the Counselors received Certificates of Appreciation to acknowledge their support of the InnerCity Mission’s Mentoring Program.

Partners in Sao Tome and Principe Give Hope to 60 Families

Food is a basic necessity yet too many around the world go daily not having enough food. This is why we are very passionate about ensuring indigent children and families do not go to bed hungry. Our Partners in Sao Tome and Principe joined the InnerCity Mission in our goal to distribute millions of meals as they donated food supplies to 60 families. In Leeds/Bradford, our Partners organize weekly feeding outreaches to reach the needy.

Orphanage Support Program Meets the Needs of Vulnerable Children

The InnerCity Mission supports child-centered institutions that provide succor to orphaned and vulnerable children. Often, these institutions have limited funding which affects how they provide for the children in their care. To ensure that these children are protected and have all they require, the InnerCity Mission supports a global network of Orphanages with food items and other basic amenities.

Our Partners and Volunteers are part of this as they regularly support orphanages in their locality on behalf of the InnerCity Mission. This was what our Partners in Cameroon did when they visited an orphanage in Nkomkana community with food items for the children.

You can identify an orphanage or other child-care institution around you and donate food items and other basic needs. For more information, please send an email to info@theinnercitymission.ngo.
