A wave of joy and purpose swept through Chisikwa Village, Malawi, as the InnerCity Mission for Children under the auspecis of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) officially commissioned its 14th 100% Free School; a beacon of hope for indigent children in Africa.
Celebrating Transformation in Chisikwa Village
The event opened with heartfelt prayers led by the highly esteemed Pastor Kondwani Phiri, who thanked God for the completed school, prophesying that it would raise children ready to change their nation and the world.
In his rousing address, Pastor Sammy Anistar, PhD, CE Malawi Group Pastor, set a tone of celebration, followed by the InnerCity Mission Director, Pastor Omoh Alabi, who reminded the audience of a promise fulfilled to lift children above poverty through free education initiatives in Africa.
Representing COFI, Pastor Ose Oyakhilome, Regional Pastor for Christ Embassy Southern Africa, affirmed that these 100% free schools are a clear demonstration of the Foundation’s faith-based humanitarian work.
- Chief T.A. Kalolo, Senior Traditional Authority, called the school “a blessing to our land.”
- Hon. Madalitso Kambauwa, Malawi’s Minister of Education, reaffirmed the government’s shared commitment to make education accessible to every child, noting how school meals and free supplies remove barriers that once hindered children’s learning.
Guests witnessed the presentation of uniforms, books, and school meals; a reflection of the #7BillionMealsCampaign, ensuring no child studies on an empty stomach.
