We stayed at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in early for a 5-night stay. We were in a Resort King room (floor 21 room 323) that overlooked the pool area and also had views of the airport. Playing some more tunes on the Epiphone Casino (as well as a few others!)
Thought I'd simplify the chords and experiment with vocal harmonies this time. It's a lot of fun picking at a three part harmony, finding the mid range and filling out the highs and lows on guitar. Translating it from memory to vocals is good practice for me. Playing a melodic bassline at the same time is also great; something I tried to do here in the B section with a riff I've had for a while. The B section is also in mixolydian which is my favourite mode the play in. I tried to modulate the key pretty drastically in the outro by using my Les Paul running through a Whammy pedal. I geared this section towards a Beatlesque, Strawberry Fields vibe. All in all this one was a blast to make and I'm happy with how the new experiments turned out!
