El poker se puede jugar desde 2 personas hasta 10.
Se juega con una baraja que tiene 52 cartas enumeradas del 2 al 10 además de la J, Q, K y A. Siendo el A la más alta y el 2 la más baja.
Hay 4 diferentes pintas (o palos), Picas, Diamantes, Tréboles y Corazones.
El objetivo general del poker es ganar el dinero te tus oponentes evitando perder el tuyo. Este dinero es apostado en varias oportunidades en el transcurso de una mano de poker, llamadas rondas de apuestas.
Solo hay 2 formas en las que puedes ganar una mano de poker:
Si logras tener la mejor combinación de 5 cartas según una jerarquía de manos que veremos más adelante
Hacer que todos los rivales se retiren ante tu apuesta.
