The Londoner, Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s $1.35 billion rebranding project on Macao’s Cotai Strip, observed its first-phase opening Monday with a celebration of the new British-themed resort that also honored late Sands founder Sheldon Adelson.
The project, a makeover of a strip of hotels known as Sands Cotai Central, when completed will feature replicas of the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, a British-styled restaurant called Churchill’s Table and a pub developed by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey.
Portions of the Londoner will open over several months in 2021.
It’s Sands’ third themed hotel featuring European city replicas, along with The Venetian Macao, which opened in 2007 and the Parisian, which opened in 2016.
“The Londoner Macao embodies our continued commitment to and faith in the Macao market, and is primed to be another truly iconic integrated resort in the company’s portfolio,” Rob Goldstein, Sands chairman and chief executive officer, said in a release. “This reimagining of Sands Cotai Central represents the unique vision of our late founder, Sheldon G. Adelson. Just as he brought Venice to Macao with The Venetian Macao, Sands now brings the rich culture, history and splendor of England to the Cotai Strip.”
“This integrated resort feels very personal to me and being part of the development has been an incredible project – not only is it bringing my hometown to Macao, but also the first David Beckham Suites,” Beckham said in a release. “I can’t wait to be back in Macao to see it all – it looks spectacular.”
The Londoner Macao is Sands China's bold British-themed reimagining of the Sands® Cotai Central integrated resort. Offering the best of British history and culture alongside a traditional yet contemporary hospitality experience, The Londoner Macao will continue to open progressively throughout 2021.
The Londoner® Macao is an integrated resort that invites visitors on a journey through the best of British history and culture. It incorporates five celebrated hotel brands – the new The Londoner Hotel and Londoner Court, alongside existing Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao and The St. Regis Macao. "El nuevo libro de Javier Sicilia se titula "Crisis o Apocalipsis" y es una conversación con Jacobo Dayán sobre el estado actual del mundo. Ambos autores reflexionan sobre la importancia de la memoria, la verdad y la justicia en un contexto de crisis global.
