Today, we're exploring the Flamingo Las Vegas, a classic spot on the Strip that's been around since the 1940s. One of the few remaining "themed" hotels on Las Vegas Blvd, it still has live pink flamingos!
We start our walk near the garden wedding venue, an outdoor picturesque spot surrounded by tropical greenery.
Moving along the garden path, we pass construction where a new swimming pool and hot tub area is being built, then circle back to see waterfalls and ponds with koi fish and ducks. It's quite a tropical anomaly in Las Vegas. Before heading inside, we even see those namesake pink flamingos relaxing in the sun.
Inside the casino, we first come across the Havana 1957 cafe, a Cuban restaurant that brings a bit of 1950s Havana ambiance to Las Vegas. Just outside its entrance, on the LINQ Promenade side of the property, two giant flamingo statues make for a fun tourist photo spot. Heading back into the casino, we soon pass Bugsy & Meyer's Steakhouse. If those names sound familiar, it's because the restaurant pays homage to the Flamingo's history and mob related past.
Continuing past the food court and through the casino, we spot the entrance to the Flamingo Showroom, where RuPaul's Drag Race LIVE! and other shows take place. As we navigate further around the Las Vegas Blvd side, we see a stylish cocktail lounge in a sort of sunroom. It's Pinky's by Vanderpump, designed by reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump.
Our walk concludes back outside on the walkway to the Las Vegas Monorail.
