Por un lado un jugador (ex) de los Correcaminos de la UAT, un equipo que participa en esa deteriorada Liga de Expansión que bien podría ser llamada "de Contracción”, porque en realidad no se expande ni expandirá hacia ningún lado. Y por el otro seis jugadores del Real Apodaca FC, de la Serie A de la Segunda División, pomposamente llamada "Liga Premier”. Un equipo fundado apenas hace veinte meses, con sede en Apodaca, Nuevo León, y que participa en una de varias ligas que en el futbol profesional de México están a la deriva, navegando al garete, desde que fue impunemente vulnerado el mecanismo ascenso-descenso, elemental en cualquier competencia que se precie de serlo.
Con este caso y los de otros equipos de distintas divisiones, de los que se sospechan prácticas similares, queda en evidencia que el mundo de las apuestas está plácidamente arraigado en nuestro futbol, como campo propicio para la venta de partidos, o de goles, o de tarjetas o de saques de banda.
Un problema muy grave si consideramos, primero, que las casas de apuestas se han convertido en los principales patrocinadores en el futbol mexicano, tanto en diversos equipos como en las principales cadenas de televisión. Y segundo, que una de esas casas de apuestas es dueña de dos equipos de Primera División –los descendentes Xolos de Tijuana y los desplumados Gallos de Querétaro–, como ominoso añadido de la nociva multipropiedad, también solapada en nuestro maltratado balompié mexicano.
Las apuestas como ingrediente primordial en el deporte profesional en general y en el futbol en particular. Cientos de miles de aficionados que disfrutan más de los partidos con las apuestas de por medio, o que gozan apostando con el futbol como pretexto.

This time about John's tone. I was studying Lennon's sound for a video coming up when I noticed I could not easily recreate – on my Epiphone Casino and Fender amp – the same exact crunch but still "greasy" tone John features in songs like "Get Back" and "Dig a Pony". My Casino always sounded a bit too "clean".
As a Luthier, I have built more than 350 guitars and basses from 1988 to this day, and I know that pickups are a great part of the tone of electric and semi-hollow guitars. I finally got thinking: "Could it be something about the pickups"?
So I decided to look for any close-up image of John's Casino pickups, and I found it in the new GET BACK movie film by Peter Jackson. As you can see the magnetic pole pieces of the pickups are set extended over the pickup surface, which is unusual.
On standard humbuckers with adjustable pole pieces, they should not be extended more than 2- 2,5 mm from the pickup surface. The Epiphone Casino is equipped with P90 pickups which are not adjustable in height.
The only way to achieve a more present and fatter sound is to raise the pickup pole pieces closer to the strings by unscrewing them (about 2,5 / 3 mm over the pickup top surface). This will allow the string to transmit more voltage to the pickups and get that "gritty" tone John's has, on the Let it be record and on the rooftop concert.I' have found it curious that the Beatles had such a knowledge of the electric pickup functions back in 1968 (maybe even before? Does anyone have any hi resolutions image of the '65 / '68 period?).
So here is secret about John's tone UNVEILED for you, a tone that you can reproduce on your Epiphone casino right away by simply raising the poles about 2,5 / maximum 3mm over the pickup top surface and enjoy the exact tone he has on his Fender Twin amp on the Rooftop concert!
