Prayer. It is a key discipline of the Christian faith and a commandment to all believers. Still more, Christians are commanded to pray without ceasing. This is because prayer is the most powerful asset in our arsenal and it is never inadequate.
Insurgencies, wars, violence, climate change, inflation experienced in different parts of the world like Afghanistan, Northern Nigeria, South Sudan, etc. are an alarm, calling forth our attention to pray because they materialize to poverty, hunger, displacement, disruption of families, illiteracy, etc.
For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted with no one to help – Psalm 72 vs 12 (NIV)
The scripture above indicates that The Lord is interested in the plight of the indigent.
The InnerCity Mission has a dedicated prayer network (Praying for The Needy Prayer Network) which intercedes for the needy every Thursday at the following different time zones 8 PM GMT +1, 2 PM EST, 9 PM SAST, 6 AM AED. And through prayer, our prayer partners around the world are establishing God’s will of peace, hope, and abundance in the lives of the needy.
