At one of our epochal events, Career Day, hosted at the InnerCity Mission Ikeja Campus, the students were dressed in colorful attires of the professions they want to be when they grow up. A popular phrase says “Catch them young”, and this is exactly what we are doing at the InnerCity Mission network of schools.
It was such a heart-throbbing moment as they had different recitals of the beauty of the professions they want to be. Among the students that were participating was Sayeed. Sayeed dreams of becoming a commercial pilot one day. The confidence was really beyond imagination. “I want to become a pilot because I would love to see the world and serve my country”.
One thing is certain, the future is in safe hands and secured when we have young people like Sayeed who not only want the best of themselves but also invest in their nation with the quality of their personality.
You might ask why it’s vital to educate young people? This is because the energy and brightness of their minds act as torchbearers for national development. Research also shows that countries that utilize their youth positively are more developed. The youth of a nation are the trustees of posterity.
Education is very important and critical to nation-building. It leads to knowledge and awareness. Education leads to the establishment of a system, processes and paves the way for better use of resources, both human and material. Without education or where access is limited, there is no established order.
It starts with us building a world of infinite possibilities for young people. Join us in sponsoring education for indigent children through The “Sponsor a Child’s Education”- [S.P.A.C.E] Campaign, this is an all-inclusive, education sponsorship initiative designed to provide indigent children of diverse backgrounds, access to education: from giving out-of-school children a place in the classroom to providing much needed free scholastic materials, and even constructing free schools for children like Sayeed in underserved communities around the world.
