For Joshua and James Okorie, twins bound by hardship, school once seemed like a luxury they could never afford until hope found them.
Growing up in an underserved community, the Okorie twins lived with their single mother, who struggled to provide for them after their father’s disappearance years ago. Earning just $26 a month as a cleaner, she could barely afford food, much less school fees for her children. Their dreams of education slowly faded until she discovered the InnerCity Mission’s 100% free school.
Through this initiative, the boys were enrolled into a safe, nurturing learning environment that provides free education for poor children including books, uniforms, and nutritious daily meals. What once seemed impossible is now their everyday reality. Joshua and James are learning, growing, and thriving proof that with the right support, every child can rise above poverty.
