The InnerCity Mission for Children, under the auspices of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International, has offered marginalized and vulnerable children access to free basic education. Through its network of primary schools, over 3000 orphaned, vulnerable, and left-out children have received scholarships to start and complete their primary education. Before now, there were 11 tuition-free InnerCity Mission Schools and the latest addition to this network is the InnerCity Mission School in Ibeju-Lekki.

In her welcome address, the Director of the InnerCity Mission, Mrs. Omoh Alabi, said “This primary school which is the first of its kind in the community underscores our commitment to education and is part of our contribution to the development of Nigeria as a whole. This school will serve 8 communities in Ibeju-Lekki and hundreds of children from these communities will enjoy 6 years of qualitative early years education at absolutely no cost.”

The InnerCity Mission School is 100% free as through the support of Partners and Donors, the InnerCity Mission gives the enrolled children school supplies, adequate learning tools, access to qualified teachers, free meals, and more at no cost. This speaks to the commitment of the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International to nation-building and economic development. Education would not only build a strong foundation for a child’s life, but its benefit extends to the family, community, and general society.

Pupils who were enrolled at the InnerCity Mission School (Ibeju-Lekki Campus) received their uniforms, books, school bags, and other materials and are excited to resume school.
